Developer/Builder
Hilla Builders, Inc.
Builder at Lennon Hills
Born into a real estate family, Dan Hilla of Hilla Builders, Inc. has been building homes in the construction and real estate industry since 1981. As a kid he would clean the sites and learn from the craftsmen who hand built homes. He founded Hilla Builders, Inc. in 1987. Starting out as a hands on carpenter in the field, he has worked in virtually all aspects of the home building industry. “There are no areas of the home building process that I have not had first hand experience with” said Hilla in a recent interview. “Every sub-contractor on every project we are involved with has worked with me for years and I plan on keeping it that way.”
Also very active in the home building community, Hilla has been a member of the National Association of Home Builders since 1987 and a member of the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association since 1993. He has volunteered at every level of the organization and has risen through the ranks to President of the Association in 2003. “I feel strongly that it is important to give back to the industry that allows you to make a living. Home building has been very good to me and I will do everything I can to keep this industry as healthy as possible. Home building is the back bone of our country.”
After building hundreds of homes in Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender Counties he decided to get involved in Lennon Hills. “We always look to the community first when we decide where we would like to build homes. Beautiful homes and great floor plans are important, but the right community is essential to an active lifestyle. Lennon Hills has all the things our company looks too when deciding where to build our communities. We’re here to stay.”
Lenhil, Inc.
Developer of Lennon Hills
Lenhil, Inc. was formed by long time partners Ed Burnett and Dan Hilla. Together they found the property where Lennon Hills now sits and decided it was the perfect location to fulfill their long term dream. To provide a state of the art community where families of every age could enjoy a life style of community unity along with golf, swimming and walking in a coastal setting combined with the need to preserve our natural resources and help protect tomorrow’s generations today. “As community developers, it’s our responsibility to find a balance between the needs of today’s families and that of our planet” stated Mr. Hilla. Their obsession with making this neighborhood eco friendly and energy efficient is obvious in the attention to detail of every home. Mr. Burnett added “We are raising our own children right here along the coast. We want them to be left with the same natural beauty and benefits we have enjoyed for years”.
